A Network Engineer at Aya Healthcare is responsible for the design, installation, and configuration the on-prem network infrastructure components across multiple sites and their interaction with other on premise or Cloud-based services. Conceptualizes, designs, optimizes, and oversees the implementation of data communications networks and their interaction with cloud-based infrastructure and services.
This is a key position with our IT Engineering Team. You will lead and work on networking projects and problems of varied scope, across the enterprise; evaluating new technologies, making strategic recommendations, contributing to design specifications across system environments, then implementing recommendations to ensure optimal network performance and reliability across our enterprise and cloud infrastructures. Responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and maintain network solutions that provide core Infrastructure including campus and remote offices and integrate with services and systems running in virtual private and public cloud infrastructures
- Plan and coordinate the installation of new remote office routers, switches, access points, and circuits
- Design, configure, and manage the installation of new, or upgraded campus network infrastructure equipment including core switches, enterprise-class wireless APs, datacenter-class routers
- Provides day-to-day support of the network environment, monitors existing network capacity, and identifies opportunities for optimization
- Manages cost estimation, delivery, and capacity monitoring of transport circuits
- Participates in the coordination vendor support calls and manages escalations as required
- Automate common network-related tasks and monitor their effectiveness
- Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and failover)
- Identifies and provides support and resolution for network problems on the LAN/WAN
- Improve network performance by monitoring performance, resolving network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and working with network architects on network optimization
- Provides 2nd level technical support assistance to the Tier 1 support staff to diagnose and resolve network issues
- Support Service Desk Technicians with documentation and procedures for resolving common or recurring network-related problems
- Create and maintain technical documentation for the remote office and campus facilities, including network diagrams, installation, and configuration procedures, troubleshooting guidelines, and operational procedures
- Provide leadership on various network activities including upgrades, new implementations, and migrations, with technical direction and user support as needed
- Provide technical guidance to project managers and lead architecture and hardware discussions with vendors
- Drive operational best practice adoption across critical services, continually looking to lower operational barriers to achieving improved reliability
- Document and detail areas of improvement to bolster architecture, design, technical requirements, and service specifications
- Demonstrate technical leadership and mentoring on the application of new technologies and systems management methodologies
- Candidates should be willing to research, learn and use new technology yet focused on deliverables
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 5+ years in a Network Engineering role
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, JNCIE-ENT, Network+, WCNA highly desired
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco network solutions (routers, switches, telephony, ISE, firewalls and wireless)
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure technologies (IaaS/SaaS/PaaS) and service providers (Azure/AWS/Google) is highly preferred
- Proficiency with infrastructure devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points, controllers, and firewalls
- Multi-protocol network engineering experience. Knowledge of LAN/WAN and wireless (802.11) internetworking principles and protocols including TCP/IP, VLAN, VXLAN, SD-WAN, Network Overlay/Underlay experience a plus
- Should be able to understand overall VLAN design, ACL rules, route tables, firewall rules, etc.
- Knowledge of IP routing and routing protocols (OSPF/BGP preferred)
- Experience with network security, Cisco ASA firewalls, and standard security monitoring tools and principles
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools)
- Experience of using and managing incident/change/problem/RCA process
- Demonstrate capability managing simultaneous projects, crisis situations, and successfully meeting deadlines. Facilitate team problem-resolution discussions and effectively outline options & evaluation of tradeoffs and mitigations
- Expert analytical/quantitative, problem-solving, and deductive reasoning skills, with demonstrated experience performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex technical issues
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills and ability to work either independently or in a team environment to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely
- Experience working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors with demonstrated ability to build effective relationships through trust and diplomacy

Compensation: Aya reasonably anticipates the pay scale for this position to be an annual salary of $130,000 to $150,000.
The pay scale for this position may vary if applicant possesses experience outside of what Aya reasonably anticipates for this position. Bonuses are subject to the role and your manager's discretion.
