The Media Assistant Editor position is an exciting ground floor opportunity in our Media Department. This position is primarily tasked with assisting our Senior Editor creating Amazing Facts national broadcast television episodes. This position has growth potential into becoming a Staff Editor. There is also the opportunity to participating in special Amazing Facts broadcast programs and learn new production skills. Due to the many national broadcast outlets we air on each week, this is a fast paced position and attention to deadlines is critical.

REPORTING TO: Post Production Coordinator
Pay Scale: $25 - $30/hr
This position requires the employee to be onsite

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Associates degree in multi-media arts (emphases on editing a plus) or equivalent industry-relevant editing experience.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess the ability to plan, organize, and implement goal objectives (long and short term)
• Working knowledge of Davinci Resolve / Fusion (Adobe Premiere / After Effects a plus)
• Basic understanding of various video formats and codecs
• Basic understanding of audio levels and broadcast audio needs
• Proficiency with computers (Mac OS primary, Windows a plus)
• Excellent communication skills and a team player

EXPECTATIONS & TASKS:

• Assist in edits, quality controls, and masters for Amazing Facts television programs
• Participates in specials Amazing Facts church productions on occasion
• Must be adaptable and able to work in a deadline driven environment
• Agreement with the Amazing Facts statement of faith and core values
• Knowledge and understanding of doctrinal stance on a variety of Christian subjects specific to the SDA Church
• The ability to edit programs with proper understanding of doctrinal issues and how to present them in an evangelistic manner
