Job Description:

We are seeking a Marketing & Audience Development Associate. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in marketing or business development, can use and interpret data tools, assist in building audience growth strategies, and is comfortable initiating conversations with potential partners and prospects. This role requires strategic thinking, creativity, persistence and the ability to help drive impactful marketing efforts. The role supports and reports directly to the Marketing Manager and will work closely with the marketing team, as well as outside marketing service providers.

Key Responsibility:

  1. Help develop and implement strategies for growing marketing audiences.

On a weekly basis you will:

  1. Conduct outreach to potential marketing partners via email, social media, and cold calls.
  2. Send targeted communications to past participants and maintain ongoing relationships.
  3. Source and analyze audience data.
  4. Build and maintain influencer and organizational partnerships.
  5. Leverage social media for audience expansion.
  6. Research potential partnerships and coordinate meetings.
  7. Create and distribute content for audience engagement.
  8. Execute LinkedIn outreach and build lead generation tools.

Additional tasks can include:

  1. Help set up and manage targeted audiences for paid campaigns.
  2. Organize and promote webinars presented by any of our media brands.
  3. Create audience segments for events and publications.
  4. Assist in refining the buyer personas and Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs).
  5. Draft and distribute press releases.

Required:

  1. Experience in marketing, business development, or sales development (2-3 years preferred).
  2. Bachelors degree in marketing or related field.
  3. Understanding of market audience dynamics and how to define market segments.
  4. Experience with data enhancement tools.
  5. Comfort with outreach to new contacts (including cold calling/emailing).
  6. Self-starter with strong lateral thinking skills for problem-solving and strategy development.

Preferred Experience:

  1. Background in events and/or media industry.

  1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; politely persistent.
  2. Proactive and able to work independently in a remote environment.
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  4. Data-driven with a proactive mindset for problem-solving and seeing relationships.
  5. Creative and strategic in content and partnership development.
  6. Understand data reporting and trends with the ability to derive insights from it.
