Job Description:

The DVSC Marketing Assistant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the DVSC NJ Training Facility. Will coordinate and assist with the marketing activities of our training. Use simple marketing strategies and media (e.g., print, digital, customer events and trade shows) to launch and position products and services, oversee daily business activities, coordinate business operations, monitor and motivate staff, ensure good customer service, and engage with vendors.

Competencies: Competencies include supervising others, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, communication skills, managing performance, interviewing skills, delegation and problem solving.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participating In ARSC Audits
  • Facilities management, responsible for maintaining the facility, contacting contractors when needed and overseeing building remodel/expansion
  • Determines when the Council will close or have early closures or delayed openings due to severe weather
  • Planning client related special events, i.e. guest speakers for meetings, etc.
  • Involved with purchasing, including office supplies, technology (laptops, phones, printers)
  • Establishes agenda and leads monthly staff meetings
  • Maintains and works with company’s social media accounts
  • Works with DK Creative Services on digital marketing strategies and producing creative sales tools, including presentations and marketing collateral, when needed
  • Creates/maintains customer contact list
  • Works with Company Accountant providing estimates to clients
  • Schedules Customized safety training for clients, as needed
  • Attends monthly board meetings and presents updates regarding marketing projects, grants, and other special projects. In addition, records monthly meeting minutes
  • Writes and sends out email blasts to employees and customers on topics ranging from policy updates to new product rollouts utilizing Constant Contact.
  • Schedules web hosting calls/meetings
  • Meets with clients as needed to discuss training needs
  • Organizes and attends marketing events
  • Works with corporate management on special projects as assigned
  • Oversee grant opportunities from start to finish with our Grant Writer

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and abilities): To perform this job successfully, knowledge in the safety industry is a plus. The individual must have leadership qualities, effective verbal and written communication skills with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company, highly organized, strong work ethic, good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, computer literate and proactive in nature.

High school diploma or equivalent required

Associates degree and experience in the safety industry preferred but not necessary

Must have some management experience

A current, valid driver’s license is required

While performing these duties, the employee must be able to regularly stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop and kneel and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly required to speak and hear.

Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday-Thursday onsite 7am-3pm; remote work Fridays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
