You will champion modern data technologies and practices, driving awareness, adoption, and best-in-class engineering standards across the organization. This position blends deep technical expertise with strategic influence, stakeholder engagement, and a strong focus on mentoring and growing engineering talent.

What You’ll Do

1. Build awareness, increase knowledge, and drive adoption of modern data technologies by clearly articulating business and engineering value.
2. Collaborate on complex, high-priority problems to deliver data solutions that directly impact customers and internal teams.
3. Provide expert guidance while fostering an inclusive environment where diverse ideas are encouraged, heard, and championed.
4. Promote a culture of engineering excellence, including reuse and inner-sourcing of solutions where possible.
5. Communicate effectively with and influence stakeholders at all levels across the organization.
6. Serve as a trusted advisor for specific technologies, platforms, or capabilities, shaping unified use cases and implementation patterns.
7. Mentor internal talent and actively participate in hiring to build a strong pipeline of next-generation data and tech professionals.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree
2. At least 4 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
3. At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
4. At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 7+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
2. 4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
3. 4+ years experience with Distributed data/computing tools (Databricks, Spark, Kafka, EMR, Hadoop, MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, Gurobi, or MySQL)
4. 4+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
5. 4+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cassandra)
6. 4+ years of data warehousing experience (Snowflake)
7. 4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting
8. 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
