Job Summary for In Vitro Biomedical Researcher:

SURVICE Engineering is seeking a Biomedical Researcher to plan and execute in vitro electrophysiological and live-cell imaging studies on primary neuronal cultures in support of our U.S. Army Research Laboratory customer . In this position you will (a) support scientific efforts by participating in the planning, execution, and analysis of experiments; and (b) perform duties including generation and maintenance of primary neuronal cell cultures, assess damage to cultures following various insults through electrophysiological mechanisms. In addition, other tasks will include, but not be limited to:

• Maintain laboratory equipment/supplies.
• Schedule and execute experimental protocols.
• Ensure the quality of procedures and data and compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• Prepare and present presentations and written documents summarizing efforts to the ARL staff, universities, private corporations, research institutes, national laboratories, or other Government research centers.

Minimum Required Education/Qualifications for Biomedical Researcher:

Degree in Biology, neuroscience or other biological science degree. Should have a Master's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience or a PhD.

Required Experience:

• Experience with primary cell culture and electrophysiology is required
• Experience with intracellular or extracellular electrophysiology and downstream signal processing as well as live-cell imaging is required
• Excellent sterile cell culture techniques, communication with cross-functional teams, attention to detail, record keeping, and organizational skills are a must.

Experience that would be a plus:

• Experience documenting results in presentations and publications in technical reports, conference proceedings, and peer review journals
• Cell engineering (viral, CRISPR, etc.), molecular biology, bioinformatics (multi-omics or similar large dataset processing via Python, R, C++, MATLAB), or machine/deep learning.
