Team Support and Scope

Konnect is working with a family-owned stylish upholstered furniture firm that is seeking an HR Manager with a direct reporting relationship to the Senior HR Manager.

The HR Manager is quick-thinking, flexible, and able to provide outstanding customer service with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail.

You will oversee the execution of human resources policies and programs, which may include recruitment and onboarding, training and career development, employee relations, compensation, and benefits planning. This is a demanding and fast-paced position that requires a proactive and positive thinker who is able to exercise good judgment, effective communication, and initiative.

You’re role and potential

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law. Must have a solid working knowledge of California and federal labor laws that affect employment.
  • Strong knowledge of claims with workers comp.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety requirements and performing safety walks
  • Conduct termination and exit interviews.
  • Manage open enrollment for health benefits for employees,
  • Teach, train, and support adherence to company policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Support talent acquisition efforts, including background check reviews and interviews with candidates and provide insight into hiring decisions.
  • Serve as business advisor/coach to employees and managers.
  • Manage employee relations cases, corrective action and investigations. Solutions focused - Ability to investigate and identify root cause issues, then craft and implement effective responses/actions.
  • Support leave of absence administration and lead the interactive process for accommodations for employees.
  • Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; assists with the reviews of policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Performs other business related duties as assigned.
  • Working hours start at 6:30am

Education / Experience / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or in a related field from an accredited institution, years of experience may be used in lieu of an educational requirement.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a related position.
  • Spanish: Speaking is required. Reading and writing is preferred
  • Prior Management Skills are preferred
  • SHRM HR certification preferred

 

Compensation

This is an exempt-level management position and is an on-site role. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. Please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total rewards package.
