Job Description:

The Director of People Operations will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Total Rewards, Payroll/HRIS, and Talent Acquisition teams. The director will ensure legal compliance and the implementation of the organization's mission and strategy. They will foster a high-performance culture that encourages continuous improvement, learning, and development.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes but is not limited to):

Total Rewards:

  • Designs and leads salary classification and compensation programs.
  • Leads the design of employee group insurance plans.
  • Leads the design of employee 401K plans.
  • Design plans around leaves, including but not limited to Family and Medical Leave, Sick Leave, and Short and Long Term Disability.
  • Advises employees on state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, personnel procedures, and classification programs; prepares and communicates information to employees about benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures.

 

Talent Acquisition:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best hiring and talent management practices.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends, including reviewing reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.

 

Payroll/HRIS:

  • Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting, and internal financial requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with all payroll & tax laws.
  • Coordinate external audits
  • Update labor legislation and any changes in employee insurance and tax regulations
  • Stay up-to-date with labor legislation and any changes in employee insurance and tax regulations
  • Design short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery options
  • Keeps stakeholders informed of the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implantation plans

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human resources or management
  • 7+ years' of professional HR experience, ideally from a services-oriented business, with a combination of corporate and business unit line experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
