Job Description:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-known, long standing organization to hire a Human Resources Assistant for their SW Portland office! Although previous HR experience is preferred, it is not required. We are seeking candidates who are excited and motivated to learn Human Resources, and who have outstanding customer service and administrative skills to support their staff. This role will assist with answering any and all Human Resources related questions for their employees, so you will get an opportunity to learn plenty of new things.

Position Details:

  • Location: Onsite in SW Portland, OR, near downtown (free parking provided)
  • Duration: 1-2 month contract
  • Pay: $22-$26 per hour DOE
  • Hours: M-F, full time, normally 8am-5pm but flexible start time

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Be the first point of contact for employees when they have questions related to Human Resources
  • Manage an HR inbox, rerouting more complex questions as needed
  • Utilizing an HRIS system to update digital employee files
  • Assisting with benefits administration, leaves, password resets, employee relations, and more
  • Administrative tasks such as filling out birthday and anniversary cards
  • Other ad hoc tasks as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Dipoloma or equivalent is required
  • Previous experience working in a Human Resources Assistant or Coordinator role is a plus but not required
  • If you do not have previous HR experience, must have 2+ years of office administration or customer service experience, and the desire to learn Human Resources
  • Experience using an ATS or HRIS system is a plus; or the ability to learn a new system
  • Strong communication and organization
  • Personable and positive "can-do" attitude
