A non-profit hospital in southern Oregon is seeking an Infection Preventionist to work with a talented Infection Control team. The IP will have healthcare knowledge and experience with infection control procedures, policies and data. Moreover, exposure to statistical analysis, data abstraction and formulation of stats into graphical representations will ensure the Infection Preventionist has a smooth transition into this IP role.
This medium sized hospital has 200 patient beds and the Infection Preventionist will report to the Director of Quality. The IP is responsible on a daily basis to provide surveillance; consultation and ongoing education related to Infection Control and Epidemiology practices to hospital and ambulatory care departments. The Infection Preventionist will provide surveillance to Infection Prevention measures such as MDROs, CAUTI, CLABSI, and C-diff.
This hospital offers a wide variety of patient services including a busy Emergency Dept., an advanced Heart and Vascular Center, Stroke Care, Women and Infect Services, Pediatrics, Imaging Services, Inpatient Medical Surgical, Intensive Care Units, NICU, Outpatient Surgery, Pathology Lab, and outpatient clinics.
The Infection Preventionist will be well supported and trained when they start this position. The hospital is open to RN and Medical Laboratory professionals. Experience with hospital laboratory, public health or other hospital positions will provide a jump start to this exciting career.
