This position will coordinate, direct, and supervise histology staff and functions while also participating in daily lab duties, compliance monitoring, and facilitating communication with staff and administration. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Please note that the selected candidate may need to work extended hours or vary their usual shift to ensure adequate lab functions and to maintain a high level of service.

Required License/Registration/Certification:

ASCP certification, or eligibility for certification

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's of Science Degree or higher education with a minimum 5 years of experience as Histotechnologist with a minimum of 3 years as a Histology Supervisor

• HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) Certification

• For qualified personnel without HTL certification, must obtain within 6 months of hire

• Experience in preparing and using reagents, test media, strains; performing standardized laboratory tests and examinations

• Proficiency with cutting tissue in cryostat

• Proficiency in processing tissue for immunofluorescence studies

• A high degree of accuracy and quality of laboratory work

• Licensed in the State of WV as a Laboratory Technician required within 90 days of employment.
