POSITION: Program Supervisor, SAFARI-Health Program
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
OFFICE LOCATION: Kent, WA
HOURS: Regular/Full time 40 hours per week*/FLSA Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: $30.39 - $45.58 per hour depending on experience

We have been working in the South King County area since 2012 and have a strong record of community-led projects and programs.
OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
This position will work on the SAFARI (Sustainable Alliances for African Refugee and Immigrants)-Health Program to improve health outcomes and address health disparities by serving community members who have Health Related Social needs (HRSNs) and care coordination and resource navigation support and referrals. Studies show that 80 percent of health outcomes are driven by factors that occur outside of the healthcare delivery system - the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH). Providing access, services and support to help people meet their SDoH and Health Related Social needs (HRSNs) in culturally relevant and appropriate ways helps people achieve the health outcomes that they desire for themselves while improving access to, and engagement with, the healthcare system.
This program has case managers who speak multiple languages to serve our diverse community. You will support each team member to grow in their role, feel supported and provide excellent services to our community. Your role will allow you to design and improve upon the systems and processes for how the SAFARI-health program operates. You will also have the opportunity to support overall Mother Africa ongoing events and activities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Supervisor will provide direct support to all SAFARI-Health case managers. Key aspects of the role include:
- Maintain a solid understanding of the program model including the processes and systems in place to effectively run the program.
- Meet weekly with each case manager to provide 1 on 1 supervision.
- Meet weekly with the community hub team to share referrals and progress updates.
- Maintain a high standard of excellence in case management best practices across your team including case notes, database data entry, and reporting on metrics.
- Attend organization and community meetings and activities to support your team.
- Support SAFARI-Health staff team in receiving and distributing materials and supplies for community members (for example school supplies, home cleaning supplies, food gift cards etc)
- Play an active role in program evaluation for the program, collecting data and analyzing to see whether we are on track with serving our SAFARI-Health clients well.
- Report any barriers or challenges in program delivery to the leadership team, and participate in creative problem solving.
- Meet weekly with your Supervisor for support, mentorship, and supervision.
- Draft program reports for funders as needed
- Call for and run a monthly SAFARI-Health staff meeting
- Partner closely with the SAFARI Program Supervisor and team for internal referrals.
- Accountable for ensuring that all agency policies and procedures are carried out by all program staff.
- Tracking and recording all items distributed to clients, including gift cards, promotional materials, and other items, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Represent Mother Africa at external events, presenting, exhibiting, networking, and promoting the organization's mission and values.
- As Program Supervisor, you will be involved in staff recruitment progress, including reviewing job descriptions, participating in interviews to select the right candidate
- Collaborating internally across programs to ensure clients receive comprehensive support and are seamlessly connected to the appropriate health resources
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
- Supervision experience of case managers in a social service agency, minimum 2 years.
- Prior experience as a case manager in a social service agency, minimum 2 years.
- Proven ability to relate effectively and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and to promote a culturally diverse environment.
- Experience with database data entry, tracking metrics, and reporting on case management deliverables.
- Ability to implement required systems and protocols such as case management best practices, filing, data management, timesheets and client tracking, and update processes as needed.
- Ability to work sensitively with immigrant and low-income families of diverse ethnic, language and cultural backgrounds.
- Strong technology skills including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, databases and online search engines.
- Willingness to comply with established agency performance standards.
- Compliance with HIPPA and confidentiality.
- Must have reliable, independent transportation for frequent travel between sites and a valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- Creative thinking, very adaptive and fast learner able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment, being flexible to changing conditions.
- Knowledge of human service delivery systems and systems advocacy, and solid understanding of King County available services and resources.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (not required):
- At least five years of experience or understanding and working with African or Middle Eastern refugees and immigrants, or living and working in Africa.
- Second language proficiency in languages spoken in African communities.
