Who You Are

Brightwheel is seeking a dynamic and innovative Head of Curriculum to lead our curriculum development efforts, shaping the future of early childhood education. As the Head of Curriculum, you will play a pivotal role in creating engaging and effective educational products and curricula for young learners through our physical kits and digital teacher tools.

What You’ll Do

  • Research and Trends: Stay current with the latest research, educational trends, and best practices in early childhood education, integrating this knowledge into curriculum and instructional design
  • Curriculum development: Lead development of new curriculum themes, activities, and product lines for infant, toddler, and preschool audiences
  • Digital Learning: Build digital learning instructional content for online teacher and administrator trainings, bringing best practices in online learning
  • Digital Experience Insights: Drive business requirements for digital product development to best support teachers in integrating curriculum into their classroom environments
  • Product Development: Translate activities into the associated physical products needed to wow educators and kids, partner with design and supply chain teams to develop products with the highest safety standards that can be manufactured efficiently
  • Team Leadership: Lead team of designers, trainers, and state compliance to achieve our curriculum strategy in line with state standards
  • Budget Management: Oversee the curriculum and product development budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, educators, and parents to gather feedback and insights, driving continuous improvement in our offerings.


Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • 8+ years of proven experience in curriculum development and educational product design
  • 4+ years of strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating teams
  • In-depth knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
  • Experience in physical and digital learning environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Innovative mindset with a passion for enhancing early childhood education
