Salary range, Rochester, New York: $67,986.00 to $85,000.00
Responsibilities
This position reports to the Director – Government & Community Relations and is responsible for managing programs and initiatives that support achievement of the Government & Community Relations team objectives related to spending, procurement, corporate donations, community events, outreach, and constituent issue resolution.
- Responsible for planning, monitoring, and reporting on the department budget, working in close collaboration with Director to ensure annual budgets are met.
- Manage all procurement activities for the department including developing requests for proposal, technical bid evaluation, purchase order creation and invoice processing to ensure department needs are met and vendors are paid in a timely manner.
- Manage corporate donations program through vetting recommendations with Director, securing all required paperwork from external organizations, ensuring all donations have executive approval and meet corporate compliance rules, processing payments and managing budget. Coordinate and participate in recognition events related to corporate donations.
- Responsible for maintaining the government officials contact database to promote prompt, efficient and effective communications to advance the interests of external stakeholders and the Company.
- Applies knowledge and skills to effectively resolve constituent issues related to the Company which are raised by elected officials.
- Serve as networks liaison to the Avangrid Foundation by recommending organization for grants, coordinating, and participating in recognition events and submitting required reporting information.
- Coordinate public information meetings, public hearings and town meetings related to assigned projects.
- Organize special events and coordinate production of promotional materials for such events.
- Responsible for supporting the team prior to and during emergency events by distributing press releases and other relevant information to government officials.
Skills And Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience is preferred or an Associate’s Degree with 5 years’ relevant experience.
- Relevant experience includes customer service, public affairs, government affairs or communications.
- Experience working with community organizations is preferred.
- Fluent in Spanish; preferably Spanish as native language. Must be able to translate documents from English to Spanish
