We are seeking an Event Coordinator to join the Brookfield Properties U.S. Office Division in Los Angeles, CA. In this role, you will play a key role in inspiring change and continual improvement. California Market Center (CMC) is a creative office and mixed-use destination with 1.8 million square feet of commercial office, fashion mart, retail, and amenity space. Located in the heart of the LA Fashion District, CMC’s architecturally award-winning business complex is a global destination for West Coast events. The Event Venue features multiple outdoor, indoor, and rooftop Event Spaces nestled among fashion showrooms and creative offices and is home to a year-round calendar of prominent tradeshows, buzzworthy public events, and exclusive, private events.

Role & Responsibilities

The Events Team Associate is responsible for supporting all departments within the events team both operationally and administratively. Areas of concentration include buyer relations, events sales, call campaigns, email campaigns, event operations and administrative duties.
 

  • Performs Tradeshow & Market outreach to retail buyers via call campaigns, email campaigns or in person visits.
  • Assist with sales efforts through various rollout campaigns inclusive of calls, emails, competitive research and data entry.
  • Oversee all contract filing, processing and billing activities acting as the liaison between the events team and accounting department to ensure clients are contracted and paid.
  • Perform office administrative tasks such as filing, managing databases, email template creation, spreadsheet maintenance and creation, reports and presentations.
  • Conducts fashion market research and develops contacts with the retail buyers, brands, and potential venue clientele.
  • Analyzes attendee data to assist the events team with strategic outreach plans.
  • Conduct regular trend watching at both the retail and brand levels to educate the team on opportunities for buyer programming, sales outreach, and marketing initiatives.
  • Monitors magazines, newspapers, trade journals, other publications including online resources relevant to clients, and maintains a media and sponsor opportunity list.
  • Able to analyze market data, KPIs, and other statistical data to produce intuitive reports used to measure effectiveness of marketing efforts.
  • Assist with both retail/attendee calls and fields incoming venue requests.
  • Assists events team with temp rental requests, emails, tours, and contracts.
  • Provides excellent service at all times to ensure the CMC is highlighted in the best possible light.
  • Provides administrative support to the teams as needed. Processes department invoices, P Card reports, and T&E reports as needed.
  • Assists with all buyer programming and hotel partnerships as needed.
     

Your Qualifications
 

  • Degree in Communication, Marketing, Hospitality or related discipline and 1-2 years’ experience
  • Fashion knowledge, experience, and interest are essential.
  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Background in sales and experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Experience collecting data, running reports, and performing analysis on data to determine effectiveness of marketing efforts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Work and PowerPoint
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects within a fast-paced environment.
  • Regular attendance on site is an essential function of this position. Must be able to work consistently as scheduled during normal business hours. Ability to work some nights and weekends. This position is not eligible for telecommuting.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Type: Non-exempt

Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly

Annual Base Salary Range

Starting salary is typically between $43,000 and $63,000 annually, however, it is ultimately determined by the scope of the position the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.
