Environmental Health and Safety Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for EHS functions necessary to support Construction at an assigned job site.

Environmental Health and Safety Manager ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide Safety Leadership creating enthusiasm and participation among management and craft workers, resulting in excellent safety performance.
  • Work directly with the Site Manager and the management team to develop and implement and maintain an effective site-specific safety program.
  • Communicate between company and client management regarding safety matters.
  • Assist with executing the safety strategy and zero accident culture on assigned project(s).
  • Monitoring daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA and rules/policies.
  • Implement the project's program.
  • Monitor monthly safety training for completion.
  • Review and provide job safety analysis feedback.
  • Perform workplace audits and inspections to closure.
  • Monitor and provide training to project personnel on Concern Reports and Safety Observations.
  • Assist in incident investigations and notifications as needed.
  • Input and review incident reports.
  • Assist in the execution of the job site safety plans.

Environmental Health and Safety Manager Required Skills

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

Commercial Solar, 3-5 years experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in occupational safety and/or health required, Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a wind or solar construction.
  • First aid and/or CPR certification preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification required.
  • Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification preferred.
  • Experience with a general contractor preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of OSHA's record keeping standard and excellent medical management skills required.
  • Formal safety training including OSHA 500 in the construction industry.
  • Familiar with Gensuite Incident Management software.

Environmental Health and Safety Manager KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Take ownership of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles.
  • Possess excellent people skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment.
  • Candidate must also be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Type and author reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls.
  • The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or work spaces.
  • Employee is occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach work areas.
  • The employee must regularly move up to 20 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites.
  • Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee views computer monitor regularly.
  • The employee is required to be able to effectively communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties.
  • The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials.
  • The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances.
  • Will be required to work overtime and weekends as project needs warrant.

Environmental Health and Safety Manager Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
