Job Description:

• We have an opportunity for a senior-level Electrical Engineer to join our talented engineering organization.
• Senior members of our design staff are technical leaders possessing expert understanding of space flight electrical engineering and precision motion control technology for EO instruments and sub-assemblies.
• The scope of the position requires a proven track-record with a range of responsibilities from requirements definition, conceptual trades, design & analysis to procurement and integration & test of sensor systems including precision scanning mirror systems, EO mechanisms, EO calibration systems, control systems engineering and cameras for the aerospace and commercial community.
• Senior, principal and lead electrical engineers are responsible for leading engineering control analysis and evaluation efforts of complex electrical systems, documenting design approaches, establishing design verification & validation using MATLAB modelling and analysis, conducting detailed briefings to peers and customers and developing plans to manufacture and test high precision control systems for pointing mirrors, fast steering mirrors, telescope gimbal systems and major sub-assemblies.
• Additional responsibilities include new business proposals, Basis Of Estimate (BOE) development and IRAD support, Tiger Team involvement, customer/sub-contractor/supplier interface, and the development and mentoring of junior and mid-level level staff.

Education/Experience/Licenses etc.

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering with controls study and experience, MS degree in Electrical Engineering with Controls Study
• At least 10 years of experience in developing control and electronic systems for aerospace & military defense applications
• Knowledge in sensor level and sub-assembly hardware design & development, control analysis, control design, control optimization (tuning), integration, reliability, and risk mitigation for space-based environments
• Experience in space based Analog and digital design, servo design, motion control systems and precision mechanisms
• Experience with high reliability aerospace programs and radiation-hardened environments
• Experience generating cost & schedule plans and estimates
• Experience as a lead engineer, project engineer, or IPT lead
• Experience supporting new business pursuits, writing technical proposals
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills for interfacing with senior management and customers as well as mentoring of associate engineers
• Active Secret (or higher) security clearance and the ability to satisfy requirements for a TS/SCI (SSBI).
