About You and this Role:

In this role, you will support Dow's Hydrocarbons Business as the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Delivery Specialist aligned to the Light Hydrocarbon 7 (LHC-7) facility located in Freeport, TX.

You will lead EH&S compliance and implementation of EH&S management systems in one or more fields including, for example, health and safety (H&S), environmental, air, water and industrial hygiene and maintain the license to operate for one or more facilities.

This position will allow you to strengthen your coaching and influence skills while building on your strong foundation of technical capability and engineering fundamentals. Leadership commits to provide developmental opportunities to prepare the incumbent for a variety of future roles and career paths.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads EH&S compliance, implementation of EH&S management systems, and maintains the license to operate for the LHC-7 facility
  • Performs periodic reviews of EH&S documentation, coordinates data collection, and submits agency reports to ensure consistency and compliance is met.
  • Performs data collection and reporting for environmental compliance data including emissions reporting.
  • Major contributor to submittal of permit applications for new and modified equipment, requests for permit changes, and submittal of permit renewal applications.
  • Acts as Agency Visit and Agency Response protocol owner and implementer.
  • Leads the facility implementation for new/revised EH&S programs or regulations.
  • Leads EH&S performance improvement goals of assigned plant(s), site, and business.
  • Works closely with Facility Operations personnel to ensure EH&S data collection, monitoring, and operating discipline are strong and in compliance with Dow or Regulatory standards.
  • Acts as the Plant subject matter expert and trainer for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
  • Leads or participates in incident investigations and the corrective action process for EH&S issues and opportunities.
  • Key contributor on facility EH&S team(s).
  • Leads or participates in environmental related reviews and projects (facility MOCs). Initiates Environmental Management of Change (EMOC) and completes Environmental Regulatory Assessment Tool (ERAT) evaluation for proposed facility changes.
  • Participates in and provides data for Environmental audits, internal and external.
  • Provide oversight of facility fugitive monitoring program
  • Strong knowledge of EH&S Standards with an emphasis on environmental regulation

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking OR Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. EH&S, manufacturing or related).
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills:

  • Engineering, Science-related, or other technical degrees
