The New York Post is seeking an Editorial Page Editor, Assistant (M-F, 10:30am-6:30pm) to join our team. This is a great opportunity to join an iconic media brand, learn hands-on the operations of the department and contribute daily to the Editorial Page. This AEPE will be a member of the Editorial Board. The primary duty is to draft editorials on a daily basis while also contributing to online and print production. All Edit Board members serve as “ambassadors” to the wider world.
Areas of focus include:
National US politics
New York politics/policy (city and state)
New York history/politics
US foreign- and national-security policy and history
Conservative and libertarian insights on domestic US policy
Current and recent popular culture
Requirements:
A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in politically-centered opinion writing or related work
Related research-reporting skills
Ability to compose clear, lively, factually accurate prose
Self-motivated and assertive with good use of tact and judgment.
Ability to work independently but also a great collaborator and a team player.
Proven track record to manage multiple tasks and ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and follow ups.
An effective manager of social media accounts
Have a working knowledge of SEO and social-media best practices
Proficiency in preparing WordPress files for online posting
Familiarity with Methode a plus but not necessary
Note: At this time, NY Post has returned to the office in a hybrid work schedule.
Salary Range: $50,000-$145,000
