Position Overview

Paylocity’s customers use our Benefits Enhanced and Benefits Enterprise products to facilitate their benefits administration for their workforce. The Benefits Implementation team is responsible for successfully onboarding Paylocity’s customers both as they transition onto and use our Benefits Administration applications. The function is vital to Paylocity as Benefits Administration is a key component of Paylocity’s HR suite of products and a good Benefits Administration product is seen as a function that is needed for us to compete and win when comparing our software versus our competitors. Additionally, providing excellent products and support in this area underpin our extremely important broker channel sales strategy.

The Director of Benefits Implementation (DBI) is responsible for setting the vision and structure for the team, implementing appropriate management controls and processes, giving direction on systems development efforts, and managing the day-to-day functions of the various Benefits teams. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for defining the vision and developing goals for the Benefits Implementation team.
  • Responsible for capturing data and working with our systems development teams to build the Benefits Administration capabilities needed to support our customers well, allow for positive and efficient implementation experiences, and drive additional market opportunities.
  • Responsible to manage, develop, plan, and guide the strategic activities of the Benefits Implementation team to achieve accepted goals and meet published SLAs.
  • Responsible for personnel staffing, morale, measurement, and development in all Benefits implementation departments.
  • Responsible for evaluating processes touching internal and external partners and working with those partners to improve them.
  • Responsible for effective communication between the Benefits departments and all internal and external partners.
  • Responsible for development of KPIs and reporting over the KPIs to senior management. 
  • Strategic Initiatives: All operations directors will be expected to lead and/or participate in cross-departmental projects to tackle strategic initiatives.
  • Operations Leadership Development: All operations directors will be required to provide one on one counseling and mentoring to support development of leadership capabilities across the operations department. 

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Minimum 10 years in an operational management role 
  • Knowledge of management concepts and practices including supervising and motivating employees, performance management and employee development/training. 
  • Must have operational management experience in a high volume environment
  • Experience developing, implementing and managing control/auditing processes via a recognized process improvement methodology, (such as Lean Six Sigma), is required
  • Experience working with Implementation of software systems and personnel required
  • Project Management:  Experience managing employees working on both task oriented and project driven tasks a strong plus & Experience managing tasks in a matrix project management environment is a strong plus
  • Experience developing and driving adoption of cross departmental processes preferred
  • Experience collecting data and driving development priorities using a data focused approach is a plus 
  • Experience working with payroll and/or HR data
  • Extensive experience with a multi-customer product required
  • Implementation management experience required
  • Operational management experience required
  • Demonstrated use of a Process Improvement methodology is required
  • Strong communication skills with external parties required

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $130,000 – 180,000 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
