Scholastic Inc. is looking for an NYC-based Digital Marketing Specialist to support overall strategic digital marketing for the Scholastic Store, Stored Value programs (e.g., eGift Cards), and Content to Commerce. This role is responsible for creating and implementing marketing plans and digital strategy that drive online sales for Scholastic. The role will also work closely and effectively with other teams throughout Scholastic to provide a unified marketing experience with the customer at the heart of everything we do.
This role will require someone with an understanding of how to target and address key segments of our audience, while also having the ability to develop marketing plans that include promotional concepts, digital strategy, social media advertising and messaging, email marketing strategies, and content development and messaging alignment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Senior eCommerce Marketing Manager, this Digital Marketing role will help develop, create, and execute marketing plans and materials that are creative, revenue enhancing, and reflective of both our assortment and brand. They will help to partner with the Visual Design team to oversee design and production of marketing materials, partner with channel marketing teams on the successful implementation of marketing plans, and be responsible for the day to day tracking of campaign performance – with an eye to continually improving our efforts. Additional responsibilities include:
Maintain a robust and accurate omni-channel marketing calendar.
Partner with the Social and Paid Media Teams to help implement eCommerce-focused digital marketing strategies using PPC, SEO, social media, display, and affiliate marketing.
Participate in brainstorms with the larger team on creative marketing ideas and recommendations to meet multiple goals.
Track marketing KPIs and help analyze performance to inform future marketing efforts.
Partner closely with Design, Analytics, Email Marketing and Digital Marketing teams to realize our campaign plans.
Contribute to marketing reports and recaps to summarize key campaigns and performance.
Write content and marketing messaging, including creative briefs for campaigns.

Qualifications
HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)
2-3 years of marketing and/or digital marketing experience in book publishing or a related field.
Possess an understanding of the publishing landscape, competition, and current online strategies and best practices.
Organized, and detail oriented team player with an ability to collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, working both independently and as part of a team.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to do copy-writing in our style and tone of voice.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Analytics, Jira, and a CMS, a plus.
Must have excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem-solving skills.
Must be energetic and self-motivated, responding to issues quickly with an open and positive attitude.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, or other related fields is preferred
Knowledge of Adobe Analytics and digital advertising platforms is a plus
Comfort with working in a content management system is ideal.
Knowledge of effective testing strategies with a focus on continual improvement is a plus
