Job Description:

The CX & Digital Content Writer is a new position created to support our strategic eCommerce, customer technology and order automation initiatives. This role is responsible for developing, monitoring and maintaining digital content across assigned Shelter Solutions customer-facing platforms, technologies and tools to drive user adoption and create positive sentiment from online interactions.

 

This role will create and manage content that works in concert with the digital user interface to guide users through an intuitive and easy-to-use experience. You will partner with eCommerce, demand generation, digital marketing and sales teams to build human-centered experiences that facilitate Speed & Ease across the customer journey.

 

This role will report directly to the Content Marketing Manager, Shelter Solutions, with indirect accountability to the eCommerce and Demand Generation teams. This position has a virtual-first hybrid work arrangement in Houston, TX with a minimum of two days in the office or co-located with other team members.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates and maintains content for a variety of assigned platforms including but not limited to eCommerce sites, customer portals, learning management systems, websites, chatbot, email, and other customer-facing applications
Drives a customer-centric perspective within the organization, resulting in consistently simple and innovatively enriching digital experiences for our customers
Researches content and audience segment trends to ensure that content is relevant, engaging and delivered at the appropriate time
Understands end-to-end customer journey to ensure that all content and placement is consistent and technically correct
Assists in gathering requirements and assessing content needs of new projects and platform enhancements
Coordinates with demand generation team and agency partners to align platform content to strategic campaigns and user journey
Writes, edits, proofreads and implements content based on the content strategy; and coordinates with graphic design team to develop supporting graphics
Maps content to the customer journey and advises on requirements to improve user flow
Proactively identifies opportunities to improve adoption and conversion rates, implementing in partnership with key stakeholders
Creates content that follows online accessibility guidelines and SEO best practices
Ensures that SEO strategies are effectively implemented; conducts keyword and competitive research to continuously improve online visibility and user acquisition
Analyzes and optimizes meta-descriptions, titles, and landing pages for search terms and semantic search phrases that will drive acquisition and online engagement
Collects and monitors adoption and usage metrics to meet targets; generates reports and presentations to concisely communicate analytics to internal stakeholders
Supports marketing team members in executing new and existing messaging strategies; applies and updates existing content to accommodate new campaigns
Supports copy development for marketing automation efforts as needed
Stays abreast of digital marketing, UX and UI trends and technology advancements to continuously improve our digital presence and user experience
Qualifications
5+ years combined experience in UX writing, digital marketing, eCommerce, analytics or a similar role in an agency or corporate setting
Bachelor’s degree required
Must be proficient in English with exceptional US-based grammar and copywriting skills
Awareness of Canadian-based grammar is a plus
Building materials industry experience is a plus
Demonstrated ability to write crisp, high-quality, on-brand user interface copy
Ability to consider content from a holistic standpoint—systems, platforms, and channels—to create a unified user experience
Ability to advocate for user experience and content strategy and facilitate alignment on content solutions with various internal stakeholders
Customer-centric mindset with the ability to identify win/wins for Cornerstone Building Brands and our customers
Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts and sales processes to determine the most impactful product solution
Experience with content management systems, marketing automation, CRM, journey maps
Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality, working in a fast-pace environment
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
Outcome-driven orientation with a bias for proactive solutioning and ability to see a vision through to execution
Ability to work at a detailed level while maintaining an overall project perspective for a variety of customer segments and brands
