The Digital Communications and Content Specialist is a creative and results-driven member of the communications team that will support Sabin’s mission and grow its online audience. The Specialist will work with the Director, Digital Communications & Audience Development, and colleagues to conceptualize and manage digital outreach. This position requires a communications allrounder, someone who can create and manage social media calendars, write crisp and punchy social media copy as well as engaging longer blogs, and support email marketing campaigns and website content updates. The Specialist will be responsible for managing event communications, drawing on the skills mentioned above.
This position is a highly collaborative, cross-cutting role working across multiple teams. It requires a strong relationship builder and a “connector of dots” - someone who can maintain a strong creative vision and has an understanding of the latest digital trends, while helping to align and integrate cross-channel strategies to deliver on objectives. They will have their finger on the pulse when it comes to trends and platform changes and seek out opportunities to reach new audiences through influencer engagement and partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, activate, and track digital and social media plans and tactics to promote Sabin’s mission, programs, and strategic initiatives
- Craft informative, sparkling content that amplifies global health initiatives and motivates target audiences to act in desired ways on social media, websites, and email campaigns
- Co-lead the creation and management of content calendars for various digital platforms including social media, website, and email marketing
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and create compelling stories that resonate with Sabin’s target audience, serving as the core communications representative for one or more programs as assigned
- Team up with core comms members and cross-functional leads across the organization to define and drive implementation of compelling multi-channel creative content
- Act as the primary liaison for all communications related to Sabin-led events, working with team members to ensure the selection of materials are appropriate for the audience and are on message, on brand, and of high quality
- Support the production of multimedia assets, including videos, infographics, factsheets, brochures, and other materials, to effectively communicate complex immunization and global health concepts
- Respond to inquiries or comments from stakeholders on social media channels or through other digital means in a timely and professional manner
- Contribute to email newsletters, including conceptualizing ideas and writing and editing
- Employ listening tactics to respond to reputational issues on social media, escalating pertinent queries to Communications leadership
- Work with the Director to identify and utilize smart paid digital advertising platforms to extend audience reach and develop a plan to sustain them with organic tactics
- Work with the Social & Digital Analyst on the communications team to establish key performance metrics and support the evaluation and reporting of social media and other digital campaigns
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, emerging technologies, and relevant health topics to provide innovative recommendations for digital communication strategies
- Manage relationships with external partners/vendors for digital marketing initiatives as needed
- Work with staff to build up capacity for user-generated content focused on programs

Requirements:
- 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in digital and/or social media roles at an agency or a global health entity
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with storytelling capabilities that move Sabin forward in meaningful and authentic ways
- Demonstrated experience writing for the web and social medial platforms
- Outstanding creative and content instincts and skills
- Validated knowledge and expertise of social media channels, especially Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Track record of amplifying online reach through partners and influencers
- Good understanding of defining digital metrics and evaluating performance
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to build relationships at all levels internally and externally
- Should be able to present and describe complex ideas and concepts using simple, easy-to-understand language
- Super organized with the ability to operate with purpose, urgency and accuracy in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to be flexible and work well under pressure and deliver work that is on time and of high quality
- Detail orientated, self-directed, and demonstrates a growth mindset
- Highly skilled in balancing multiple, complex, concurrent projects.
- Proficient in using various digital communication platforms such as social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout Social), email marketing software (e.g., MailChimp), website CMS (e.g., WordPress), Adobe Creative Cloud, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Demonstrated project management skills, including use of project management software (e.g., Monday.com)
- Global health, public health, or vaccines-focused work experiences preferred

Sabin’s philosophy is to ensure fair, unbiased, equitable, and competitive compensation and benefits. Using benchmarking and salary survey data, the starting annual salary for this position ranges from $65,800 - $72,500. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, certifications/degree.
