Job Description:

Our client is supporting the reduction in greenhouse gases caused by transportation by providing turnkey electric vehicle fueling solutions throughout North America. As a DevOps Engineer, your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's cloud-based software platform, which provides payment processing, scheduling, and maintenance ticketing for the fueling infrastructure. Your work will directly contribute to their mission of reducing greenhouse gases by enabling efficient and reliable electric vehicle fueling solutions.


Our client, a rapidly growing business, is eager to welcome a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer to their team. This full-time remote position is pivotal in managing and deploying our infrastructure, particularly our Azure environment and database. Your role will directly contribute to our growth and success, handling security, CI/CD pipelines, and more.


Compensation: $100-$120K/yr DOE

Availability: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm


Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provision, configure, and maintain infrastructure within our Azure cloud environments
  2. Monitor, report, and improve upon our security posture, performance, and other KPIs related to our operations and software development lifecycle
  3. Collaborate with developers, QA, and other stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of software, infrastructure, or other internal requirements for our business
  4. Own incident management and response, following our SLAs, lead outage response teams to restore services
  5. Build, test, and implement CI/CD tools to enable our teams to deploy code quickly and continuously, following best practices and industry standards.
  6. Be on call with other members of the team to respond to outages
  7. Other duties as needed and assigned.


Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering / Administration, or a related role
  2. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  3. Strong proficiency in Git (Github), Ansible, Azure DevOps, or similar
  4. Strong understanding of TCP/IP or OSI model
  5. Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and experience building secure networks
  6. Decent proficiency with scripting (we mainly use Powershell and Python)
  7. Hands-on, provable experience with Azure VMs (Windows preferred)
  8. Solid familiarity and understanding of SOC2
  9. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for cloud and system administration
  10. Demonstrable experience with SQL server
  11. Experience with improving logging and monitoring systems
  12. A knack for hardening security posture and advocating for information security
  13. Experience with handling SOC2 Type II audits
  14. Familiarity or working experience with fedRAMP and/or ISO27001
  15. Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  16. Excellent problem-solving skills (critical and lateral thinking)
  17. Experience with working alone or in team environments
  18. Demonstrable experience with skillset growth and desire to learn
