We are looking for a Contract WordPress Developer to join our team. This role requires a highly responsive and skilled developer who enjoys building within the native WordPress editor and values a long-term partnership that could evolve into an employee role.

What You’ll Do

  1. Build, manage, and support WordPress websites for internal and external clients.
  2. Develop websites using the Kadence and Genesis WordPress themes
  3. Create WordPress websites using clean, efficient, and modern coding practices
  4. Ensure all projects meet defined requirements, schedules, and deadlines
  5. Train clients on how to manage and maintain website functionality
  6. Meet with and communicate directly with clients to gather requirements and provide updates
  7. Perform monthly website maintenance to ensure optimal site performance and security
  8. Implement and customize Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
  9. Work with third-party APIs to integrate necessary features and functionalities
  10. Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly
  11. Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other developers to deliver outstanding websites


Ideal Candidates Will Have the Following Skills

  1. Experience with Kadence and Genesis WordPress themes
  2. Strong knowledge of the native WordPress editor (Block Editor/Gutenberg)
  3. 2+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience
  4. Familiarity with WooCommerce and basic eCommerce integrations
  5. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and JavaScript/jQuery
  6. Experience working with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
  7. Comfortable with API integrations
  8. Proficient in Website Accessibility
  9. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
  10. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  11. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  12. Experience with website performance optimization
  13. Comfortable providing client training and ongoing support
  14. Must be highly responsive and proactive in communication


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with hosting platforms like WP Engine
  2. Familiarity with SEO best practices
  3. Experience with membership sites and LMS platforms (e.g., LearnDash, LifterLMS, MemberPress)
  4. Familiar with project management tools like Basecamp, ClickUp, or Trello
  5. Ability to handle website backups, security, and performance optimization
  6. Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
  7. Ability to work during Eastern or Pacific time zones
