In this role, you will be writing rich technical pieces to bring GitHub’s content to life in creative ways. It’s more than just sharing a message, but actively connecting our audiences with everything that’s happening in technology, software development, and AI to help them see how GitHub can help solve some of their largest challenges.

The team’s work is highly visible, so candidates should be comfortable working with cross-functional stakeholders, executives, and senior leadership. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, high levels of compassion for colleagues and the developer community, and eagle-eyed editing skills are required—as is the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

  2. Craft content that is innovative, engaging, and well researched
  3. Write and edit technical content for GitHub web properties
  4. Interview subject matter experts inside and outside the company
  5. Copywriting for email, landing pages, and ads
  6. Brainstorm, workshop, and ideate pitches and articles
  7. Work data, proof points, and research into articles and content
  8. Use AI to repurpose and iterate content
  9. Help maintain GitHub’s style guide and review content to ensure consistency

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years experience in content writing, content design, journalism, or related field
  2. OR Bachelor's Degree in English, Writing, Literature, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Philosophy, or related field AND 3+ years experience in content writing, content design, journalism, or related field
  3. OR equivalent experience.
  4. 1+ year(s) experience engaging in cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders/teams (e.g., Developer Relations, Product Marketing, Communications, Executive Communications, Demand Generation) or establishing processes in cross-functional projects.
  5. 2+ years experience working at a technology company (e.g., software development, technical documentation/writing) or in a related technology field.
  6. 3+ years creative strategy experience, which could include brief writing, managing project or asset-based strategy, or participating in a team on the corporate or agency side.
