JOb Purpose

The incumbent will write and edit content for various projects/departments (including print, web, mobile, video, and social media). He/she will work closely with different leads to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and articulate messages to showcase IRD’s brand image.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write, edit and publish content for websites, blogs, videos, social media posts/campaigns, email campaigns, podcasts, etc.
• Create content that motivates, inspires, educates, and informs about IRD’s work across various digital platforms, and appeals to audiences locally and globally.
• Effectively utilize Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices to generate traffic to IRD’s website and showcases IRD as a strong entity within the industry.
• Participate in overseeing the IRD website, promote blog, and effectively pitch articles to thirdparty platforms.
• Work closely with different departments/projects to create innovative content ideas.
• Understand the need and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject-matter experts, and in-person meetings.
• Write original copy and edit content for various programs/projects and communications materials.
• Collaborate with Program/Department leads from concept development to delivery of final product.
• Be skillful at varying the voice, style, and other messaging characteristics based on the company, industry, and target audience.
• Interpret creative briefs to develop concepts for execution with assigned brands.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communications- and client-related industry trends.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA)

Required Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field.

Required Experience

• Proven 3+ year of work experience as a Content Writer or Copywriter.
• Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress, Weebly, Joomla, etc).
• Knowledge of non for profit organizations is a distinct advantage.
