R+L Carriers is expanding its Information Technology Department, and has an immediate opening for a Telecommunications Technician. The Telecommunications Technician is responsible for planning, implementation and technical support of Cisco Unified Communications related technologies across all R+L business units, while ensuring compatibility and delivery of data, video and voice to devices already connected to the production network. Supported technologies include, but are not limited to: Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connections, IM & Presence, Jabber, VCS / Expressway, Contact Center Express, Emergency Responder and Voice Gateways.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data equipment.
• Establish voice and data networks by running, pulling and terminating cables.
• Ensure quality of installations by testing circuits, equipment and alarms.
• Identify and troubleshoot system performance and technical issues, engaging vendors and business partners as needed.
• Prepare reports of throughput, uptime and other metrics for business and capacity planning.
• Assist with system upgrades and lifecycle replacements as recommended by the manufacturers.
• Generate and maintain documentation as needed.

Qualifications:

• Cisco CCNA certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience planning, configuring and installing enterprise-grade voice networking hardware. Experience with Cisco solutions is preferred.
• Experience with voice gateways: MGCP, SIP, H. 323, SCCP, digital PRI / T1, analog FXO / FXS on Cisco 2900/3900/4000 and legacy devices.
• 1+ years of experience with configuration and deployment of routers, switches and cabling in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, including but not limited to UC Manager integration, basic scripting, high availability clustering.
• Experience testing, troubleshooting
