Job Description:

Backend Developer – PostgreSQL Focused

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of high-performance, scalable, and secure backend systems. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in PostgreSQL and a strong foundation in database architecture and backend logic.

As a Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing core backend services that drive business-critical applications. You’ll work closely with project managers, product owners, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver solutions that are efficient, robust, and aligned with user needs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs with a strong focus on PostgreSQL database architecture and performance tuning.
  2. Analyze business and user requirements to build effective, scalable solutions.
  3. Collaborate with frontend and full-stack developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  4. Conduct database optimization, data modeling, and query analysis to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
  5. Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
  6. Create technical documentation including system flowcharts, data diagrams, and user guides.
  7. Support software release cycles with routine maintenance, updates, and debugging as needed.

Required Qualifications

  1. Proven experience as a backend developer or similar role, with hands-on expertise in PostgreSQL.
  2. Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
  3. Strong understanding of relational databases, schema design, indexing, and data integrity best practices.
  4. Experience working with other databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server is a plus.
  5. Solid understanding of RESTful API design, server-side logic, and security principles.
  6. Comfortable working with version control tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  8. Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
