Job Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Superintendent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. The Assistant Superintendent will play a key role in supporting the overall success of construction projects in Richmond, Virginia.

 

Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:

  • Assist the Superintendent in coordinating and managing construction projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure timely and successful project completion.

Site Supervision:

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure work is being performed according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all on-site personnel.

Subcontractor Management:

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to schedule work and deliveries.
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to project timelines and quality standards.

Quality Control:

  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure that construction work meets or exceeds industry standards.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues that may arise during the construction process.

Schedule Management:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules.
  • Monitor project timelines and make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.

Communication:

  • Effectively communicate with project stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Provide regular updates to the Superintendent on project status, challenges, and achievements.

Problem Solving:

  • Identify and address construction-related challenges promptly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop creative solutions to overcome obstacles.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and inspections are obtained and completed on time.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in construction management or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • OSHA certification is a plus.
