As we continue to grow as an organization we are working to bring more of the development of our APIs and key systems in-house and build out a technology arm of the organization. To help facilitate this we are seeking an Application Development Specialist to ensure optimal performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our existing APIs. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing existing APIs, addressing errors, and ensuring smooth integration with our systems. Your expertise in API management, maintenance, reporting, and troubleshooting will be crucial in minimizing business disruptions and maximizing the value of our APIs.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manage and maintain existing APIs, ensuring they are running at optimal performance levels.
• Monitor API usage and performance metrics, generating reports and identifying areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve API errors, working closely with the development team and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of APIs with our systems and databases.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to API management.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments of APIs to identify potential risks and opportunities for enhancement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and requirements for API improvements and new features.
• Work with the development team to implement enhancements, updates, and bug fixes for our APIs.
• Ensure compliance with security and privacy standards in API development and usage.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external partners using our APIs.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in application development, with a focus on API management, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of programming languages, development frameworks, and software architecture principles.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs, API gateways, and related tools and technologies.
• Proficiency in API documentation and reporting, generating insights and recommendations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address API-related issues.
• Familiarity with security and privacy standards in API development and usage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
