CBR is the oldest and most respected comic book culture website in the world. It is the internet’s first and final stop for nerd culture, news, commentary and community.

Our editorial team is looking for writers to create original and informative Anime List articles that our discerning audience demands, with the eye-catching aesthetic they crave. CBR operates at a rapid pace and is seeking writers who can produce high-quality articles under time constraints. The selected candidate will have tremendous career growth and internal development opportunities within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Write a minimum of 2–3 articles per week in CBR’s house style (following the requisite training). This will include fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing/very basic editing (sizing, brightness, etc.)
• Brainstorm, pitch, and develop original content ideas
• Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial team
• Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team

Requirements

• A passion for the content and a drive to grow within the industry
• Previous writing experience (Editing experience is a plus)
• Broad working knowledge of Anime
• The ability to analyze content and pull directly from the source material to back up claims
• A sharp eye for grammatical details
• Excellent command of the English language
• Ability to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around times
• Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment
• Broad working knowledge of old and current anime (including One Piece, Dragon Ball Super, Naruto/Boruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, Spy x Family)
  • Should possess a general understanding of the culture and strong research skill
